From 1 October 2026, COVID-19 vaccines will transition to the National Immunisation Program (NIP), marking a significant change in how COVID-19 vaccination is funded and managed in Australia. The move reflects current evidence and changed epidemiology of COVID-19 in Australia and prioritises maintaining protection against severe COVID-19 in those at highest risk.

The webinar will cover:

  • the current burden of COVID-19 disease in Australia
  • the latest evidence on COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness and safety
  • updated COVID-19 vaccination recommendations, the reasons for these changes and eligibility for a funded dose
  • the implications of the transition to the NIP for providers and patients
  • practical approaches to discussing vaccination recommendations with patients
  • vaccine ordering, distribution and delivery under NIP arrangements.

The session will conclude with a live Q&A panel, providing participants with an opportunity to ask questions about implementing the changes in practice.

Can't make it live? Register anyway. The webinar will be recorded and made available here. Registrants will receive a link once it is available.
