NCIRS, with the support of the NSW Ministry of Health and NSW Department of Education, continued surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in educational settings between 10 April 2020 and 3 July 2020 (school term 2 of the academic year). This report summarises the preliminary findings of this work in early childhood education and care services, and primary and high schools in NSW.

NCIRS, with the support of the NSW Ministry of Health and Department of Education, started an investigation in early March into all COVID-19 cases in schools and early childhood education care (ECEC) services to understand the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in these educational settings in the context of New South Wales, Australia. This report summarises the findings of this investigation for the period 25 January 2020 to 9 April 2020 (school term 1 of the academic year) during the first pandemic wave, and updates preliminary data in our report dated 26 April 2020.
