View this report Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2022 2023 The Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2022 examines Australian Immunisation Register data for children, adolescents and adults to offer a detailed picture of changes in vaccination coverage rates in Australia between 2021 and 2022. It is the first study of its kind to comprehensively document the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on vaccination coverage in Australia. The report shows that fully vaccinated coverage in children has declined across Australia since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among other findings, it also reveals that pandemic impacts on vaccination coverage were greater in remote areas with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. View this report Key findings - Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2021 2022 This summary report presents key findings from the Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2021 which focused on changes in immunisation coverage among all children aged <5 years, adolescents and adults between 2020 and 2021. The summary report also shows vaccination coverage among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and the impact of remoteness and socioeconomic status on vaccination coverage rates. This is the first report in the series to comprehensively document the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated public health response measures on vaccination coverage. View this report Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2021 2022 The Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2021, released by the National Centre of Immunisation Research and Surveillance (NCIRS), examines Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) data for children, adolescents and adults and is the first to comprehensively document the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated public health response measures on vaccination coverage. Vaccination coverage in children in Australia remained relatively high overall in 2021, despite the major disruptions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, however pandemic impacts on coverage were greater in some areas, particularly remote areas with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the report has found. The summary report also shows vaccination coverage among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and the impact of remoteness and socioeconomic status on vaccination coverage rates. This is the first report in the series to present the whole-of-life vaccination coverage data. View this report Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2020 2021 The Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2020 is the 14th in the series, and the first to present adolescent and adult vaccination data from the Australian Immunisation Register, in addition to childhood vaccination data. The report shows 'fully vaccinated' coverage increased at all three age milestones in all children and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children between 2019 and 2020. Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage in adolescents by 15 years of age continued to increase, as did recorded influenza vaccination coverage in adults. However, recorded zoster vaccination coverage among older adults remained low. The report also shows persisting issues with timeliness of childhood vaccination, particularly for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and socioeconomically disadvantaged children, and those living in remote areas. View this report Key findings - Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2019 2020 This summary report presents key findings from the Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2019 which focussed on changes in immunisation coverage among all children aged <5 years at key milestone ages of 12, 24 and 60 months between 2018 and 2019. The summary report shows 'fully vaccinated' coverage at 12, 24 and 60 months; individual vaccine/antigen coverage; MMR and influenza vaccination coverage; and vaccination coverage among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. This report also highlights that although timeliness of vaccination issues persisted in 2019, the disparity in ‘fully vaccinated’ coverage between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and all children decreased at 24 months. View this report Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2019 2020 The Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2019 is the 13th in the series, and shows data for the calendar year 2019 derived from the Australian Immunisation Register for all children aged <5 years.
