This research report presents exploratory analysis of coverage estimates of vaccines/antigens assessed at the 2-year and 5-year age milestone and factors contributing to lower ‘fully vaccinated’ coverage at the 2-year age milestone than at the 5-year age milestone. It highlights that changes in the National Immunisation Program schedule and the more number of vaccines assessed at the 2-year coverage assessment algorithm have impacted coverage estimates at this milestone and suggests coverage algorithm at 5 years should be expanded to include a more comprehensive range of vaccines that a child should have received by this age to better reflect true coverage.
