The Annual Immunisation Coverage Report 2022 examines Australian Immunisation Register data for children, adolescents and adults to offer a detailed picture of changes in vaccination coverage rates in Australia between 2021 and 2022. It is the first study of its kind to comprehensively document the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on vaccination coverage in Australia. The report shows that fully vaccinated coverage in children has declined across Australia since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among other findings, it also reveals that pandemic impacts on vaccination coverage were greater in remote areas with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
