Reasons against MMR vaccination Very important to me Slightly important to me Not important to me My child may have some localised swelling where they received the injection, have a non-infectious rash, have mild cold and flu-like symptoms or have a fever 7 to 12 days after the vaccination. My child may be 1 in 1 million children who experience a serious complication such as a severe allergic reaction or encephalitis. If my child experiences a severe complication I may feel guilty or responsible because I had them vaccinated. If I choose to vaccinate my child I may feel uncomfortable if my friends, family or members in my community strongly disagree with my choice.
