NCIRS uses AIR data to calculate vaccine coverage estimates for all children and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Vaccine coverage estimates - all children Tables 1, 2 and 3 provide the latest rolling annualised quarterly data on childhood vaccine coverage for the December 2017, March 2018, June 2018 and September 2018 assessment quarters from the AIR. The data show the proportion of children fully immunised at age 12 months, 24 months and 60 months according to the National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule. 'Fully immunised' refers to vaccines on the NIP Schedule, but excludes rotavirus. A full description of the basic methodology used can be found in Communicable Diseases Intelligence (O'Brien et al. 1998;22(3):36-37). More information on the vaccination schedule and national due and overdue rules for childhood immunisation are available from the Australian Government Department of Human Services website. These reports provide a detailed summary of vaccine coverage at standard milestone ages, coverage for vaccines not included in standard coverage assessments, timeliness of vaccination, vaccine coverage for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, small area vaccine coverage data, and adolescent vaccine coverage. Refer to Vaccines coverage and Reports sections of the website to access these and other reports.
